Photograph showing four Grenadiers standing in silent vigil over the coffin of Queen Victoria in the Albert Memorial Chapel, Windsor Castle. The picture shows the coffin draped in the Royal standard with a crown on top and the Grenadiers standing at each corner of the coffin with their heads lowered. The coffin is surrounded by wreaths and a fern stands in the left background. Queen Victoria died at Osborne on 22 January 1901, her funeral was held at Windsor Castle on 2 February and after two days of lying-in-state in the Albert Memorial Chapel, the Queen was interned beside Prince Albert in the Royal Mausoleum, Frogmore.
