Photograph of Ernest Shackleton (1874-1922), on the right and Frank Wild (1873-1939) stand facing the viewer in between pressure ridges. Shackleton (right) and Frank Wild (1873-1939), his second in command on the Endurance, provide much-needed scale to this picture of two pressure ridges, and demonstrate the size of the natural forces at work on their ship.
