Photograph of a young Gentoo penguin standing with its egg on a nest amongst grasses. Hurley returned to South Georgia after the end of the Endurance expedition to make further studies of the scenery and wildlife. This meticulous image shows the delicacy of his approach, as he captures this intimate view of a penguin on its nest.
