Photograph of Sir William Thomas Knollys. He is sitting on an ornately carved wooden chair facing partly left with his right arm resting on the table beside him. He is wearing military uniform and the Order of the Bath. There is a bearskin hat on the table and a sword by his left leg. The photograph is surrounded by watercolour illustrations of the military camp at Aldershot by the artist Orlando Norie. Sir William Thomas Knollys was based at Aldershot for part of his career. He was later Treasurer and Comptroller to the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII.
