Visiting with children: The Queen's Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse
The Queen’s Gallery offers a great day out for children. Here are some ideas to help you plan your visit.
Things to do during your visit
Art Spy Family Activity Bag
Explore The Queen’s Gallery with our Art Spy Family Activity Bags, available every day. Join in a big bag of fun activities as you put on your Art Spy disguise and go on a secret mission to find out about the work of Thomas Rowlandson, a famous caricaturist from the turn of the 19th-century. Create a cartoon strip, find out about fashion of the time and lots more.
Things to look out for:
Thomas Rowlandson created fun characters to help tell stories in his drawings, just like we have cartoon characters today.
A drawing with a magical trick
This drawing is specially designed to make you do something when you look at it, can you work out what it is?
A caricature is a picture of a person whose features have been exaggerated to make them look funnier or sometimes horrible.
