The official souvenir album of the Diamond Jubilee is now available. Charting The Queen’s public and family life over eight decades, it presents a portrait of the monarch as daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and Head of State.
Organised year by year from 1926 to 2012, each page tells a story from The Queen’s life. It features some of her magnificent evening gowns, spectacular jewellery, state gifts, alongside documents from the Royal Archives – all of which illustrate Her Majesty’s role as Sovereign over the past 60 years.
The publication updates the ‘Birthday Souvenir Album’, published in 2006 to mark The Queen’s 80th birthday. Additions include some of the most significant events of the past five years such as The Queen’s first-ever visit to the Republic of Ireland, a State Visit to Canada, and The Queen’s address to the United Nations in 2010, more than 50 years after her first UN address. The Queen has also celebrated her Diamond Wedding Anniversary with The Duke of Edinburgh and attended the weddings of several of her grandchildren, including that of her eldest grandson Peter Philips in 2009, and more recently, that of Prince William.
