Otumfuo Opoku Wareii Asantehene, King of Ashanti

Magnify image

This Agua is a traditional Ghanaian stool, symbolising Oman-keraa (the soul of society). It was presented to The Queen by Otumfuo Opoku Wareii Asantehene, King of the Ashanti, in 1972.

The seat of the stool is in the shape of an Oseramfa (a crescent moon) - symbolising the warmth of a mother's embrace.
