Edward Courtenay, eighth Earl of Devon

d. 1509

Nominated by April 1494 (under Henry VII)

A supporter of Henry Tudor, for whom he fought at the Battle of Bosworth. Rewarded for his loyalty and created Earl of Devon. Later made a Knight of the Garter for his continued service to the King. Died just a month after Henry VIII's accession, in May 1509.
