Loyal to the exiled Henry Tudor, Brandon fled to the continent following a failed rebellion against Richard III in 1483. On Henry's accession, undertook military and diplomatic service for the Tudor regime. A fine sportsman, he was appointed Master of the Horse to Henry VII. On his death, Brandon was buried at Blackfriars in London. His inheritance passed to Charles Brandon, his nephew.
