John de Vere, thirteenth Earl of Oxford

Nominated by April 1486 (under Henry VII)

Fought for Henry Tudor at the Battle of Bosworth and became one of the most influential peers under Henry VII. Created Lord Admiral in 1485. Godfather to Prince Arthur, but played a lesser role in the reign of his younger brother Henry VIII, dying only four years after the latter's accession.
