Sir Henry Stafford, first Earl of Wiltshire

Younger brother of Edward Stafford. His brother's claim to the throne meant Henry Stafford was also perceived as a threat to the monarchy and he was imprisoned in 1509, although he was later released. Created Earl of Wiltshire in 1510 and became one of the select group in attendance on the King. Served in the French campaign of 1513. Present at the Field of the Cloth of Gold and created a Privy Councillor by 1520.
