The drifting bivouac of the party after the ship's destruction, Ocean Camp, November 1915

Frank Hurley

Presented to King George V

When the Endurance finally sank on the 21 November 1915, a makeshift camp was established on a solid bit of floe called Ocean Camp. This view shows the disposition of the tents and the cooking area, which was enclosed by a windbreak.
