Royal Horsewomen

April 2004

Eva Zielinska-Millar

HM The Queen

Three generations of horsewomen posed for this photograph at Windsor, taken to mark The Queen’s seventy-eighth birthday: The Queen is on Tinkerbell; her daughter, The Princess Royal, on Peter Pan (right); and her granddaughter Zara Phillips (now Mrs Tindall) on Tiger Lily (left). All three skewbalds were bred by The Queen, who is well known for breeding a wide range of horses and ponies, from thoroughbred racehorses to Highland ponies. Tinkerbell is the mother of both Peter Pan and Tiger Lily.
