Open Day at Windsor Castle for primary and secondary teachers

Are you looking for innovative ways to help you deliver your Curriculum from September this year?  Do you need inspiration to refresh your learning programmes and build in cross-curricular approaches?

Come along to our Open Day with a colleague, partner or friend and find out more about Windsor Castle as an exciting and memorable venue for school visits for students of all ages and abilities.  Explore the Castle's 900-year history and its inspiring collection of paintings and works of art and learn how our award-winning schools programmes create immersive experiences and bring classwork alive.

The Open day will include:

  • 11:30 – welcome from the Learning Team; opportunities to discuss our programmes and facilities in the light of your specific needs and challenges; buffet lunch
  • 12:30 – explore learning resources including replica armour and costume, Royal Collection artefacts and themed trails, and learn more about our online resources to support your teaching before or after the visit
  • 13:00 onwards – self-led tour of the Castle at your own pace including the magnificent State Apartments with optional guided tours of the Castle Precincts and St George's Chapel, highlighting learning opportunities for school pupils.


Tickets priced at £12.00 admit TWO adults and include buffet lunch and visit to Windsor Castle with optional tours (student teachers free).  Our open days are very popular and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.  We are happy to welcome two teachers or one teacher plus guest per school.
