Windsor Castle in Medieval Times

Students participating in a schools' session at Windsor Castle

Key stage 3  Through this interactive session and role play, we link prominent events of the time to the Castle’s development from earth and timber fortress to magnificent royal seat of government. The session is designed to meet the needs of teachers delivering the subject through event-based teaching and, for those focusing on specific themes throughout the period, we discuss either:

  • changes in medieval society from 1066 to the 14th century, or
  • the evolution of conflict from siege warfare to the Wars of the Roses.

“This is a fantastic trip. The quality of resources in the Teachers’ Pack helped us plan the visit and all staff were friendly and helpful.”
Head of Year 7
