Palaces and Homes

An opportunity for pupils to explore the daily lives and lifestyles of people at the Palace, past and present. The group tour the building with a member of the Learning team and use domestic objects from the past to investigate Palace life – from ink wells and carpet beaters to Victorian flour shakers and jelly moulds. By drawing comparisons with their own experiences, pupils consider what life was like at the Palace over 100 years ago, as well its present day role as The Queen’s official home in Scotland.
