My First Gallery Visit

A fun introduction to art and art galleries, this session explores the Gallery through the eyes of our youngest visitors. Groups investigate the exhibition with a member of the Learning team and begin to think about the artists, pictures, frames and labels they find along the way. Focus is then given to 2 or 3 pictures or objects, where the children hear stories about the work, adding their own ideas based on what they see.

Pupils create their own miniature picture and decorate a frame to take it home in at the end of their visit.
