King or Commoner?

Children participating in a schools' session at Windsor Castle

Key stage 2 TUDORS  In this lively interactive talk and costume handling session, pupils discover how the clothes worn at the Tudor Court reflected the position in society of the wearers – from servants to courtiers to the Tudor monarchs themselves.

We focus on the fabrics and colours used to distinguish rich and poor, and children try on items from our replica costume collection to find out how comfortable – or otherwise! – this clothing would have been to wear.

"A very expressive presentation, the children were enthused and listened to by the presenter who provided us with great information."
