Changing Times: the Tudors and Stuarts

Students participating in a schools' session at Windsor Castle

In this interactive session we invite pupils to explore religious and political changes at the time of the Tudor and Stuart monarchs. We discuss events of the period, drawing on visual evidence in the form of contemporary paintings and armour for students to locate within the State Apartments, and through handling of replica costume and armour pieces. Students learn of the important role of Windsor Castle in the lives of Henry VIII and Charles I, both of whom are buried at the Castle in St George’s Chapel.

"The best trip - excellent learning and wonderful staff.  This is our 3rd visit and we will be returning next year."
Class Teacher.
