Members of the British Royal family have been inspired to paint, draw and sculpt for generations. A new exhibition at Windsor Castle will show examples of their handiwork from the last 350 years, including detailed architectural drawings, atmospheric landscapes and intimate portraits of family members.

The exhibition will feature works by King George III and his children, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and their children, King Edward VII, Queen Alexandra, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HM The Queen.

Also on display will be a series of watercolours by HRH The Prince of Wales. The Prince has painted throughout his adult life, during holidays and when his official diary allows.  The Prince of Wales often paints in the open air, particularly on The Queen’s Balmoral estate in Scotland, and he takes great pleasure in the challenges of observing, and then recording, involved in this particularly British art form.
