This painting, dated 1532, was recorded in 1639 as being ‘Done by Holbin, upon a crackt board’. In this talk, Claire Chorley, Paintings Conservator, will uncover the secrets hidden for hundreds of years beneath the layers of paint and give an insight into the painstaking techniques of the restorers work.
