10-Minute Talk: Anatomy raised to a work of art

Friday, 1 June 2012
Location:
The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace
Time:
12:00 and 15:00

Speaker: Jennifer Scott, Curator of Paintings

Among his earliest anatomical drawings, The Skull Sectioned is one of Leonardo’s most compelling anatomical studies. It was strictly anatomical in intention, yet, as this short talk reveals, its extraordinary delicacy of observation means it is now also considered a work of art.

10-Minute Talks are free with an exhibition ticket or 1-Year Pass.
