Windsor is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and The Queen's favourite weekend home.

Royal Collection Education provides a number of informal learning opportunities including online resources; a lively and interactive family audio tour; family workshops and activities during school holidays; and a range of activity trails.

Family Audio Tour

Discover more about the oldest and largest castle in the world.  Horace, a timeless tutor, and Tommy, his pupil, are your guides and introduce you to the many magical characters who live at Windsor Castle, including Gilbert the Grotesque, Tipu Tiger and Cyril, a Page of the Back Stairs.  The family audio tour is included in the standard admission price. 

     


The Big Draw
27-31 October
11:00-16:00


Take part in the biggest drawing event in the UK. Experience how you can express yourself and document a world around you through drawing. Use pencils, crayons and pastels to explore various drawing techniques. Come to the Moat Education Room and celebrate your passion or to try something new – everyone can draw.
Please note the State Apartments will be closed on the 27 and 28 August.
   


Christmas at Windsor Castle
18-19 December
11:00-15:00

Soak up the Christmas atmosphere and celebrate the festive season at Windsor Castle. Follow our special activity trail and discover fascinating facts about Royal Christmas celebrations. Join us for art activities in the Moat Education Room and make your own Christmas decorations, cards or crackers.
