Press visitsThe Royal Collection Press Office organises press visits to the official residences of The Queen and The Queen’s Galleries for journalists and broadcasters who regularly review, feature or write on the arts and heritage. Download a Press Visit Application Form At The Queen's Galleries in London and Edinburgh, press do not need to pre-book their visit. A complimentary ticket will be issued on the day, on the production of a valid press pass.
Press imagesThe Royal Collection’s Press Office supplies images to press, broadcast and digital media for the preview and review of exhibitions, events and the public opening of the royal palaces and residences. A selection of images for current and forthcoming exhibitions is available on the Press Association’s Picselect website and can be downloaded and used free of charge. The website address is www.picselect.com, and the Royal Collection’s folder can be found in the Arts section of the site. All images are 300 dpi (7 x 5), and captions and credit details are shown next to each item. If you require other visual material or images at a higher resolution than those on Picselect, please contact the Press Office. If you wish to use images for other purposes, please contact the Royal Collection’s Picture Library, telephone +44 (0)20 7839 1377 (switchboard) or e-mail picturelibrary@royalcollection.org.uk (Office hours Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:00). The Royal Collection Press Office and Picture Library do not hold photographs of members of the Royal Family or royal events. FilmingThe Royal Collection’s Press Office deals with requests to film at the official residences of Her Majesty The Queen and items in the Royal Collection outside scheduled news facilities. Location filming is not permitted. To film outside Buckingham Palace, please contact The Royal Parks Agency. Filming projects relating to the Royal Family or the Royal Household should be submitted to the Press Office at Buckingham Palace: Press Office Requests to film at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle,should be made to the Chapter Clerk: Chapter Clerk Filming at Kensington Palace State Apartments, the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House and Kew Palace is arranged by the Press Office of Historic Royal Palaces. To make a request to film, please follow the guidelines below: • Applications should be made on the attached form and submitted to the Press Office with a covering letter on the production company’s headed paper. A full programme synopsis and any other supporting material should be included if available at this stage. • Applications should contain full details of how the proposed filming will fit into the programme, exact locations (interiors and exteriors), and preferred dates for filming. All requests are subject to approval. • Requests must be received at least one month before the preferred date of filming, to allow scheduling around the diary commitments of the working palaces and for all crew members to be security cleared. • At the discretion of the Royal Collection, a cancellation fee may be charged if permission to film is granted and filming is subsequently cancelled by the film company with less than one week’s notice. • Companies applying to film must hold valid public liability insurance. • Filming charges: Facility fee £300 + VAT per hour, supervision fee £25 + VAT per person per hour. • For details of the costs of stills and transmission fees, please contact Photographic Services: telephone +44 (0) 20 7839 1377 (switchboard) or e-mail picturelibrary@royalcollection.org.uk (Monday-Friday, 09:30 – 17:30).
