    This nephrite vase was presented by Tsar Nicholas II to King Edward VII when the King visited Reval (now Tallinn in Estonia) in June 1908. On 9 June King Edward was met by the Tsar and most of the imperial family on their yachts the Standart and the Pole Star. During the two-day meeting diplomatic discussions, banquets and balls were held on the yachts but neither the King nor the Tsar went ashore. The King's gift given to his nephew in return was a naval sword made by Wilkinson and inscribed For His Imperial Majesty Emperor of All Russia Nicholas II from His Loving Uncle Edward Reval 1908.
