The Royal Collection at Banqueting House

Banqueting House's ceiling is a masterpiece and the only surviving in-situ ceiling painting by Sir Peter Paul Rubens.  It was commissioned by Charles I in memory of his father, James I.  It would be one of the final sights that Charles I saw, as he was executed at Banqueting House in 1649.
