DOROTHY WILDING (1893-1976)

Her Majesty the Queen, 1952

signed and dated

RCIN 2999871

To mark her accession to the throne in 1952, The Queen was photographed by Dorothy Wilding wearing a gown by Norman Hartnell and the Diamond Diadem and Garter Sash and Star. It is an image which, despite The Queen’s youth, captures an air of regal splendour and authority.
