Princess Elizabeth, July 1928

These five portraits are from a series taken by Adams in July 1928. They are among the most well-known photographs of the young Princess, and have been reproduced widely. Adams’s brother, Christopher, coloured one of the portraits in pastel. Miss Buchanan Scott’s miniature is based on another photograph from the same sitting.
