MARCUS ADAMS (1875-1959)

Princess Elizabeth (b.1926), hand study, 6 May 1927

6 May 1927

RCIN 2943710

Marcus Adams had a particular interest in palmistry. Writing about hands, he stated: 'Their many indications, shapes, textures, forms, colour and lines all have a truth to unfold.' Wherever possible he included a subject's hands as he believed that hands were 'just as attractive and expressive as the face, and add greatly to the interest of the picture.'
