Closely related to Franz Xaver Winterhalter's oil portrait of 1855 in the Royal Collection (404691), this miniature shows Princess Feodora of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, half-sister to Queen Victoria, wearing a blue evening gown the badge of a family Order, pearls at her neck and a diamond diadem with a black lace veil. The costume varies from the original, most notably in the addition of the diamond diadem in the miniature.
