The third daughter of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, Princess Maud (1869–1938) married Prince Charles of Denmark in 1896. He became King Haakon VII of Norway in 1905. This photograph, taken in the late 1890s, is set into an oval gold frame, with blue guilloché enamel and alternate gold bands of laurel leaves surmounted by a ribbon cresting. Mark of Michael Perchin; FABERGÉ in Cyrillic; gold mark of 56 zolotniks (before 1896)
