The frame of the lens is applied with mounts in the neo-classical taste, over blue guilloché enamel. The handle is of carved and polished chalcedony with a matching band of blue enamel; it is joined to the lens by coloured gold mounts in the form of a laurel wreath surmounted by the Russian imperial crown, enclosing a gold rouble coin from the reign of Tsarina Elizabeth and dated 1750. Mark of Michael Perchin; gold mark of 56 zolotniks (1896-1908); Fabergé in Cyrillic characters
