Gilt wood throne chair in the late seventeenth century style, with an arched upholstered back and rectangular seat, scrolled moulded arms on octagonal baluster supports and partly fluted baluster legs joined by moulded X-shaped stretchers; back embroidered with ERII monogram, surrounded by an inscribed Garter, surmounted by a crown.
ProvenanceUsed by Her Majesty The Queen at her coronation in 1952. It was used after the crowning ceremony in St Edwards Chair and is different to the Chair of Estate which is on display in the Throne Room, Buckingham Palace.
