The photograph is after a daguerreotype taken just before the marriage. The figure of Queen Victoria is blurred due to movement. Of the event, Queen Victoria wrote in her journal 'Vicky was daguerreotyped in my room, & she & her dear father & I, together, but I trembled so that it has come out indistinct.
