Subedar Saleh Mohammad was born in 1916 and joined the British Army where he was captured whilst in action on North Africa. He escaped three times from a prisoner of war camp in Italy but was re-captured and eventually moved to a prisoner of war camp in Germany where he survived allied bombing raids. Following the war and the partition of India, Saleh Mohammad served in the Pakistan Army 10 Frontier Force Regiment and was a member of the Pakistan Delegation to the UK where he served during the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. -
