Full length portrait of Dr Edward Adrian ("Dr Bill") Wilson standing outside the Hut with his hands on his hips. He wears a wooly hat. Edward Wilson (1872-1912) had previously been to Antarctica on the Discovery expedition with Scott in 1901-4. In 1910 Scott appointed him Chief of Scientific Staff for the Terra Nova expedition. As well as being a qualified doctor, Wilson had a keen interest in natural history, and also produced a large number of watercolours and sketches on the expedition.
