Description:

Photograph of the view across the Great Park, Windsor, with the Castle on the horizon. A carriage stands on the left and a couple on the right.

This view looks across the Great Park towards Windsor Castle in the distance. This area of the park was (and still is) home to a herd of deer and was open to the public all year round. Fenton shows the castle to great effect in its surroundings, presenting the expansive horizon hazy from the summer heat.
