Description:

Photograph of the north side of Windsor Castle with Brunswick Tower on the left of the photograph and King George IV Tower in the centre. Trees in the foreground.

This view, of the north front of the castle from the Slopes, was taken in an area of the grounds not normally accessible by the public. When the Court was not in residence, however, it was possible to apply to the Lord Chamberlain to access these areas. Fenton would have required such permission to take a number of the views in this series.
