Rounded rectangular, engine-turned gold and blue enamel box, the lid with diamond laurel swags and two-colour gold border, with inset miniature of Edward VII, surrounded by diamond border; bust-length, in field marshal's uniform with the ribbon and star of the Order of the Garter, the stars of the Orders of the Thistle, St Patrick and the Bath, the neck badge of the Order of the Bath and medal bar.
Inscribed within: 'Given to King George V / by his wife Queen Mary, / in memory of King Edward VII / who died May 6th 1910', the rim engraved with 'R. & S. Garrard & Co. Haymarket, London'.Provenance
